Customer

Our customer is an innovative web-oriented creative agency. Its main competencies are branding, web concept creation and providing web-based solutions for the clients from different sectors.

Challenge

The Customer got a chance to occupy a market niche of software services for moving agencies worldwide. Their idea was to create an online-based platform that allows moving agents to carry on on-site visits without leaving the office, through the camera of client’s smartphone.
At the same time, the customer had neither detailed requirements to the platform nor necessary own resources and skills for implementing such a complicated web system. Besides, a limited budget was one of the key factors.

Solution

The first project phase included gathering and clarification of business requirements. We optimized the project scope and the architectural solution according to strict budget limitations. As a result, we achieved a good “business value/cost” ratio.

The platform combines a CRM system with video call ability. It consists of the following subsystems:

  • Master platform — a web application for moving agents allowing them to see video from their clients and manage clients’ contacts and meeting agenda.
  • Mobile app — installed on clients’ device to communicate with agents and to show video of rooms/places to the agents. Mobile applications support Android and iOS smartphones.
  • Admin web application for business owners to manage accounts of moving companies and agents.

It was decided to use 3rd party video/audio streaming component that provides good integration abilities both for web client and for mobile applications.

The first version of the platform allows:

  • creating and managing moving companies and their agents
  • creating and managing new clients
  • planning and performing video meetings with a client with the ability to see online video from a client device and to have two-way voice communication
  • sending quotations and documents to clients
  • taking notes during a virtual visit
  • and other functionalities.

The later versions provide more features and quality improvements.

The project is performing in close collaboration with the customer. The development process is based on an iterative approach that allows regular customer reviews, constant readiness to shows and presentations, as well as fast reaction to their feedback.

Results / Benefits

Flexible and fast-reacting approach gave the customer a possibility of early market entry in spite of relatively low investments. Outsourcing all stages of software development to an offshore partner helped the customer to use own resources more efficiently.
